Open DeductBook

Terms of use

Last updated September 27, 2026. Plain-language draft for the beta; it will be reviewed before paid plans open.

What DeductBook is

DeductBook is a record-keeping tool for charitable donations. It stores what you enter, applies the IRS record-keeping rules you can read on the Rules page, and produces summaries and exports. It is provided by Nineveh Ventures.

What it isn't

DeductBook is not tax, legal or financial advice, and it doesn't prepare or file tax returns. Whether a gift is deductible, and for how much, depends on facts we can't verify and on rules that change. Confirm deductions with a qualified preparer. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for keeping the underlying receipts and letters.

Your records

Your records belong to you. You can export them at any time. In device-only mode they exist only on your device and we can't recover them. With a household account we store them for you as described in the privacy page.

Household accounts and the beta

Household accounts are in beta and free during the beta. We intend to charge a yearly household price afterwards and will announce it before charging anyone. If a paid plan lapses, the household's records and exports stay available in read-only mode; only adding and sharing pause. We may change or end the beta with notice.

Acceptable use

Use DeductBook for your own or your household's records. Don't try to access other households' data, overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful. Accounts that do may be closed.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service available but don't guarantee it. To the extent the law allows, DeductBook is provided as is, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we'll note the date at the top of this page and, for account holders, say so in the app.
